Cases of cyber fraud have increased a lot in the country. Recently a new cheating technique has come up on WhatsApp which is being called Blur Image Scam. This scam is making people victims of fraud by playing with their emotions. This scam starts with a blurred photo (blurred image) and its result can reach up to cleaning your bank account or hacking the device.

Let us tell you that to trap you in this trap, scammers send you a blurred picture i.e. blurred image on WhatsApp from an unknown number. A message is written with that photo which increases your curiosity a lot. In this, "Is this your old photo?", "Are you in this? Just look!" Messages like "Look who is this..." are included.

After reading such messages, most people try to open that picture. As soon as you click, you are sent to a fake link. This is where the process of cheating starts.

Through this link, you are taken to a fake website. You are asked for OTP, bank details, or personal information. Sometimes this link installs a virus or malware in your phone.

Through this scam, money can disappear from your bank account. Social media accounts like WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram can be hacked. Personal photos or data can be stolen. Virus or spyware can come in the phone.

To avoid this scam, you have to take care of some important things. Do not open any picture or link coming from an unknown number. Strengthen the privacy settings of WhatsApp.

Keep Two-Step Verification on. Keep a good anti-virus app installed in the phone. If you have clicked by mistake, then immediately change the password and inform the bank.
