Pedro Acosta is tied to Red Bull KTM until the end of 2026 and Alberto Puig denied that Honda is looking into contracts. But speculation about the rider heading to the Japanese manufacturer is growing stronger.

According to the website Motosan.es, a three-year contract for Acosta may be on the table, worth ten million euros per year - that is, a total of 30 million euros.

There is potentially available space in Honda's factory team, as Luca Marini is at the end of his contract. And although he is doing enough to earn a renewal at the start of this season, the results might not be enough if such a tempting opportunity as signing Acosta arises.

The Spaniard seems to remain loyal to KTM, but his manager has already stressed that he needs a winning bike. Something he doesn't currently have at the Austrian manufacturer, but would probably also not find immediately at Honda.

On the other hand, Acosta's current plans involve fulfilling the existing contract with KTM - so if he were to leave, it would only be in 2027, the year when new regulations will come into force and the balance of power in MotoGP could shift.
