Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday completed the second-highest run chase in the Indian Premier League against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The side rode on Abhishek Sharma’s blistering century and overhauled 246 runs to win the game by eight wickets with nine deliveries to spare. Abhishek registered 141 runs, the third-fastest IPL century by an Indian batter, ending up with the third-highest individual score in tournament’s history.

The record for the highest run chase is held by Punjab Kings which shot down 262 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders during the 2024 season.
