Costao OTT release date: Nawazuddin Siddiqui leads this film, which is based on Goa's cinematic history. Costao is set to premiere soon as the next original movie on Zee5. The release date for the movie is yet to be announced.

Costao is set in the 1990s, a time when Goa, now known for its sun-kissed beaches and vibrant tourist culture, was a place shrouded in secrecy, where crime and high-stakes smuggling thrived beneath the surface of paradise. 

Far from the picture-perfect postcards, this was an era marked by murky underworld dealings, with powerful smuggling cartels operating freely amid the cracks of a slowly reforming Indian economy.

The film is inspired by the incredible true story of Mr. Costao Fernandes, an unassuming yet fearless customs officer from Goa. 

He risked not only his career but also his life to bring down one of the largest gold smuggling networks in Indian history.

Against the backdrop of a nation still grappling with the early waves of economic liberalization, the story follows Mr. Fernandes as he embarks on a daring solo mission to intercept a massive illegal shipment of gold bound for Indian shores. 

In a world where corruption was commonplace and silence could be bought, he chose courage and conviction over compromise.

Costao is more than just a crime drama, it's a tribute to the unsung heroes who quietly serve the nation, often without recognition or reward. As the film unfolds, it poses a powerful question: what is the true cost of standing firm in a world that constantly tempts you to bend?

Bhanushali Studios Limited presents Costao, in collaboration with Bombay Fables Motion Pictures. 

The film is directed by Sejal Shah and produced by Vinod Bhanushali, along with Kamlesh, Bhavesh, Sejal, and Shyam Bhanushali.
