Sarvodaya School Admission 2025: The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has started the process of admissions for the 2025–26 academic year for vacant positions in pre-primary and primary classes of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas throughout the city. The admissions, which began on April 9, are being done on a first-come, first-served basis, providing parents with an early chance to get seats for their children.

With over 400 Sarvodaya schools operating across Delhi, parents and guardians can see the complete list of schools and their information by visiting the official website: edudel.nic.in.

Sarvodaya School Admission Guidelines (2025–26)

Class Strength Limit:

Each pre-primary and primary class should have no more than 40 students.

Vacant Seat Clarification:

A student’s seat will not be considered vacant just due to extended absence unless there is proof of admission to another school.

Seats of students who have been absent since the previous academic year and are either untraceable or already admitted elsewhere will be treated as vacant.

Transfer Priority:

Students requesting transfers from other Sarvodaya schools will be given first priority.

Display of Vacancy Details:

All schools shall prominently display vacancy details at:

-The gate

-Outside the office of the principal

-Helpdesks

-Notice boards

Inclusive Admission Policy:

No child will be denied admission to government schools even if necessary documents are not available at the time of submission if they fall under any of the following categories:

-Divyang (children with disabilities)

-Destitute children

-Refugees or asylum seekers

-Homeless or migrant children

-Orphans

-Children in Need of Care and Protection

Documents Required at the Time of Admission

1. Photograph

-One passport-size photograph of the child.

2. Proof of Date of Birth (any one of the following):

-Original Birth Certificate issued by MCD or any other local body.

-School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from a recognized school.

-Anganwadi record.

-Hospital/ANM register record.

-An Affidavit by the parents concerning the child's Date of Birth (as mentioned in Part B of the Application Form).

3. Residence in Delhi (any one of the following):

-BPL or Ration Card issued in the parent's name mentioning the child's name.

-Domicile Certificate of the child or either parent.

-Voter ID card of either of the parents.

-Electricity, Water, or MTNL bill in the parent's name.

-Bank or Post Office passbook in the name of the child or either parent.

-Aadhaar Card of the child or either parent.

-Passport in the name of the child or either parent.
