Mohanasankar, Professor-in-Charge and Director of IITMIC; Dr Tamaswati Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer; and Ms Jaya Umadikar exchanged documents.
Chennai/Vijayawada: IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC) and VITAP Technology Business Incubator Foundation (VTBIF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on fostering and growing deep-tech firms, marking a major step to fortify India’s deep-tech innovation ecosystem.
This collaboration is a calculated move to broaden the entrepreneurial scene in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
In the presence of Dr SV Kota Reddy, the Vice-Chancellor of VIT-AP; B Nagarjuna, the Director of VTBIF; Dr Ameet Chavan, the Director of VIT-AP IIEC; Prof. S. Mohanasankar, the Director and Professor-in-Charge of IITMIC; Dr Tamaswati Ghosh, the CEO of IITM; and Jaya Umadikar, the Chief Incubation Officer, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
The larger academic cooperation between VIT-AP University and IIT Madras is expanded upon by this incubation-level partnership. The academic partnership aims to promote collaborative research in fields such as advanced IC design, robotics, IoT, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence. This includes projects under the ISEA Cybersecurity project.
IITMIC and VTBIF want to significantly accelerate the start-up and growth of deep-tech enterprises resulting from student prototyping/venture ideation activities and academic research via this incubator-level partnership. This collaboration highlights a common goal to support deep tech and meaningful entrepreneurship, make use of complementary resources, and turn innovative concepts into products that can compete internationally. IITMIC and VTBIF are in a strong position to advance India’s deep-tech startup scene as it works towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
