Mumbai: The Maharashtra government's popular citizen service platform, ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal, which facilitates online applications for various government services, will remain non-operational for five consecutive days. According to an official statement, the portal will be shut down from April 10 to April 14 due to routine maintenance and technical upgrades.

Developed by the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Limited (MahaIT), the Aaple Sarkar portal serves as a key digital gateway for the state’s citizens to access a wide range of services provided by different government departments. However, during this five-day period, none of the services offered through the portal will be available.

Launched under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015, the portal was designed to make government services easily accessible to citizens, promote transparency, and ensure greater accountability within the administration. It allows users to submit online applications, check the status of services, and gather relevant information about various schemes and departments.

The decision to temporarily suspend the portal’s operations has been taken to ensure regular system upkeep and to implement necessary technical enhancements. However, only one working day falls within this period, the remaining four are public holidays, thereby minimizing disruption to essential services.

The state government has issued a public notice urging citizens, especially those residing in both urban and rural areas who depend on the Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra, Setu centers, and gram panchayats, to take note of this temporary suspension. Government employees and operators of these service centers have also been asked to make necessary arrangements and inform citizens accordingly.

Portal To Resume Operations On April 15

During the downtime, users will be unable to access or apply for any services on the portal. Citizens planning to avail government services are advised to do so either before April 10 or wait until the system resumes operations on April 15.

The administration has assured that the maintenance work is essential for improving the overall user experience and ensuring smoother functioning of the digital interface in the future. Once back online, the portal is expected to operate with enhanced efficiency and reliability.
