A man allegedly murdered his wife in Bhaktanapalya, under the Nelamangala Town Police Station limits, after growing suspicious of her fidelity.

The deceased, identified as Salma (30), was allegedly killed by her husband Imran (35) around 1:30 AM on Sunday. The couple had been married for just six months and had recently shifted to a rented house in Bhaktanapalya from Vijayanagar, Bengaluru.

According to preliminary reports, this was Imran’s second marriage, and he had been accusing his wife of having an extramarital affair. On the fateful night, he is suspected to have strangled her while she was asleep.

Nelamangala police have arrested the accused and are conducting further investigations.
