An Instagram post with images of rape, acid attacks, and death threats was uploaded by social media star Apoorva Makhija, also known as The Rebel Kid.

Because of the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent, she has been in the headlines.
She recently made a reappearance on Instagram and posted screenshots of the comments people had written on her photos after removing them. Some threatened to rape her and kill her, while others vowed to assault her with acid.

As she captioned the photo, “and that’s not even 1%.”

Social media influencer Apoorva Makhija’s comments during the India’s Got Latent scandal were captured by Maharashtra Cyber Cell in February.

After Ranveer Allahbadia made contentious comments on an episode, the programme came under heavy criticism.

Allahbadia’s remark against a contestant’s parents went viral very fast and drew a lot of backlash on social media.

The podcaster eventually apologised in public, admitting that his remarks lacked humour in addition to being improper.
Not only was my remark improper, it was also unfunny. In his explanation, Allahbadia said, “I am just here to say sorry; comedy is not my forte.”

He pledged to utilise his position more sensibly going forward in response to worries about his impact on younger viewers. “Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect,” he said.

On Saturday, April 6, comedian Samay Raina made an appearance before the Guwahati Crime Branch in relation to the case against him for allegedly using his YouTube program “India’s Got Latent” to promote lewd and offensive stuff.

Guwahati Police filed a formal complaint (FIR) on February 10 against a number of social influencers and YouTubers, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others, for promoting pornography and participating in obscene and sexually explicit conversations on the show “India’s Got Latent”.

Under sections 79/95/294/296 of BNS 2023 read with Sec. 67 of IT Act, 2000, read with Section 4/7 of Cinematograph Act 1952 read with Section 4/6 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, the Guwahati Crime Branch has filed a case via Cyber PS case number 03/2025.
