The All India Sarafa Association reports that due to strong selling by jewellers and stockists and a sluggish worldwide trend, gold prices fell by Rs1,550 to Rs91,450 per 10 grammes in the nation’s capital on Monday.

The price of the 99.9% pure precious metal was Rs93,000 for 10 grammes on Friday. The price of 10 grammes of 99.5% pure gold fell from 1,550 to 91,000. for the last market closing, it was trading for Rs92,550 per 10 grammes. As panic selling in the stock market and other asset classes continues to pressure safe-haven precious metals, the price of gold fell on Monday, according to Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst of Commodities at HDFC Securities.

Silver prices fell Rs3,000 to Rs92,500 per kg from Friday’s closing level of Rs95,500 per kg, continuing the losing run for the fifth day in a row.
