, the potty-mouthed chef from , has never been one to do things by halves. A promising young footballer, he originally wanted to be a sports star, however, injury forced him to abandon those dreams and he entered the catering industry to become the Michelin-starred chef we know and love today. Known for his strong language and no-nonsense attitude, he has headed up the kitchens of some of the world's most prestigious restaurants and presented numerous cookery programmes in the UK and US to build up a huge multi-million-pound fortune.
But what has the 58-year-old dad-of-six spent his hard-earned cash on? Well, a huge chunk has gone on his impressive property portfolio that he and his wife , 50, have been building for a number of years. and his jaw-dropping collection of luxury homes is proof of that! From his swanky London pad to a breathtaking Californian mansion, the celebrity chef's property empire is every bit as extravagant as his Michelin-starred restaurants.
London is where Gordon and his family spend much of his time - and his Wandsworth pile is every bit as grand as you'd expect. Purchased in 2002 for £2.8million, this eight-bedroom property has undergone serious renovations and is now believed to be worth upwards of £7 million. Tana and Gordon were seen moving back into the home in 2024 after two years away while improvements were made.
After receiving approval from the local council, the Kitchen Nightmares star turned four bedrooms into one enormous master suite, complete with two ensuite bathrooms and a sprawling walk-in dressing area. The open-plan living space flows from room to room and the property features not one but two buildings - the main house and the charming Garden House. There's also a single storey outbuilding in the garden, and a temporary pig enclosure. Gordon also won planning permission to erect two £40,000 Estonian 'igloos' in his garden. The chef lodged plans in 2019 to create more living space for friends and family to stay in.
Gordon's love affair with Cornwall is no secret, and his stunning beachside retreat in Rock is the ultimate proof. Originally snapped up for a cool £4.4 million in 2015, the home was completely rebuilt from the ground up to suit Ramsay's exacting tastes. Overlooking the picturesque Camel Estuary, this luxury escape boasts a spacious swimming pool and plenty of room for his growing family. In fact, the Ramsays stayed at the property for much of lockdown back in 2020, much to the chagrin of locals who objected to 'second-homers' invading their space.
Despite loving the Cornish coastline, Gordon hasn't held onto all of his south English gems. His former home in Trebetherick, known as Daymer Bay House, was sold for an eye-watering £7.5 million in March 2021. And Trevail House, the grand Grade II-listed former bank in Fowey he transformed into a high-end holiday home, was on the market for £2.75 million before selling for an undisclosed price in 2020.
As if two jaw-dropping UK properties weren't enough, Gordon also owns a stunning Californian 8,200 sqft mansion in L.A.'s ultra-exclusive Bel Air neighbourhood. Purchased in 2012 for a whopping £5.12 million, this luxurious retreat boasts panoramic views of the city, canyon, and ocean. Built in 2003, it was designed by renowned interior designer Carol Poet and architect Ken Ungar and features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and, most importantly for Ramsay, it comes with a state-of-the-art kitchen. CNBC reported in 2014 Ramsay completed an $820,000 renovation on his kitchen, including a $110,000 stove.
The sprawling grounds are just as impressive, complete with a two-story guest house, multiple terraces, a jacuzzi, an infinity pool, and lush rolling lawns - perfect for a celebrity gathering or a family BBQ. Gordon married his wife Tana in 1996, and the pair have six children: Megan, Jack, Holly, Tilly, Oscar and Jesse.
