fans have been up in arms over decision to hit the Golden Buzzer for 14-year-old Maya Giotea, despite her previous experience on a talent show. Maya brought the house down with her rendition of Beyonce's powerful ballad Listen, prompting judge Bruno to slam the buzzer before she even finished her act.

This golden moment was one of the swiftest in the show's history, stirring controversy amongst viewers once they found out that Maya had previously made waves on another talent competition. Hailing from Romania, the young singer graced last years Romanian version of the franchise and wowed judges there too, earning herself the coveted Golden Buzzer for her performance of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing. The echoes of discontent rattled across X, where it was alleged to be unjust for Maya to receive the illustrious reward yet again. With each judge restricted to one Golden Buzzer per series, many opined that it should have been reserved for another deserving act.

One viewer vented online: "Maya Giotea who got the Golden Buzzer on #bgt tonight was on Romania's Got Talent and got through to the live show." Another chimed in with: "She also got the Golden Buzzer on Romania's Got Talent, last year... go figure."

A third lamented: "Yet again been on Romania's got talent and got the Golden Buzzer even though there is none left!!"

Some viewers were thrilled with Maya being awarded the Golden Buzzer once more. One fan expressed their enthusiasm, commenting, "I am delighted for her. I remember seeing her singing Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing on Romania's Got Talent. Outstanding."

Another fan showed their support by saying, "Another well deserved Golden Buzzer! So happy for her!"

A third admirer shared their opinion, writing, "Maya Giotea is the sort of act that deserves a Golden Buzzer."

During the performance, judge Bruno couldn't help but take to the stage to extol the young vocalist, proclaiming, "This was the most mature, accomplished version of this song I've heard from someone so young.

"The depth of tone, the control of your voice but the feeling was totally real. You killed it! I'm still blown away."

Following her spellbinding performance, Maya received a standing ovation, leaving her parents in tears while she knelt on stage, overwhelmed with emotion and covering her face with her hands.

Judge remarked on the difficulty of the piece, pointing out that Maya had "picked one of the hardest songs to sing in the world."

Compliments continued as KSI acknowledged her talent, adding, "With confidence like that, you just blew me and everyone here away, honestly."
