Reuben Owen has revealed candid insights about his upbringing on the popular TV show Our Yorkshire Farm.

Now 21, the young farmer, who features in his own spin-off, Life in the Dales, discussed his experiences during Sunday's segment of Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh.

The reality series Our Yorkshire Farm, which started airing in 2018, gave viewers a glimpse into the lives of sheep farmers Clive and Amanda Owen and their nine children in the remote Yorkshire dales. The show wrapped up in 2022 amidst the news of Amanda and Clive's split.

Despite this, Amanda continues her television journey on programmes such as Amanda Owen's Farming Lives and Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, and also makes appearances on Reuben's show, Life in the Dales.

During his conversation with Alan, 75, Reuben was asked about his farm-raised childhood: "Did it feel idyllic when you were growing up or were there times where it was... well it was obviously a hard graft at times I guess!", reports Leeds Live.

Reuben responded: "It had its times where it was hard but overall an amazing place to live and grow up, I've had some great times there."

In a light-hearted tone, he added: "I think the worst thing about it is the weather!"

Nonetheless, he affirmed: "Other than that, it was a brilliant place to grow up!"

Discussing the experience of growing up in front of the cameras, Reuben confessed: "I've kind of known it since I was very young and it's brought all sorts of opportunities.

"So I've always kind of enjoyed doing it! It seems whenever anything goes wrong, a camera turns up!"

It comes as fans of Our Yorkshire Farm are abuzz with anticipation as the continuation of Reuben's standalone series, Life in the Dales, has been confirmed.

While an official release date remains under wraps, behind-the-scenes images featuring Reuben and his team have been revealed.

Reuben was spotted filming in Whitby, with a local fish and chip shop posting pictures of him, his girlfriend Jessica, and his colleagues on its Facebook page.

The post, also shared on a fan page dedicated to the Owen family, captured Reuben and his friends beaming at the camera during a well-deserved break.

In addition to Reuben's solo venture, another show is on the horizon. Channel 4's Our Farm Next Door, starring Amanda, Clive, and their children, is gearing up for its second series.

Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh continues on Sundays on ITV and ITV X.
