Dantewada/New Pradesh. Amit Shah Announcement: Bastar Pandum, a symbol of tribal traditions, folk art and cultural splendor, was held today with a grand closing ceremony in Dantewada. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in his address, announced to celebrate Bastar Pandum as a national festival from next year in his address. He said that artists from tribal districts across the country will be invited to this festival, and the culture of Bastar will be identified globally.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah saluted the tribal deities in his address at the Bastar Pandum festival. At the same time, he paid tribute to Maharaja Praveer Chand Bhanjadeva and said that he sacrificed himself to protect water, forest, land and culture. The Union Home Minister paid tribute to Babu Jagjivan Ram, a symbol of freedom fighter and social justice, on his birth anniversary and said that he dedicated his life to the rights of Dalit, backward and tribal society.
He said that a total of 47000 artists from 1850 gram panchayats, 12 nagar panchayats, 8 city councils, and one municipality participated in Bastar Pandum. The festival lasted from March 12 to April 5 and was held in 7 categories this year. The next year it will be expanded to 12 categories.
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said that Bastar dialects, instruments, hymns and traditions are not only Chhattisgarh, but the cultural heritage of the whole of India. He said that it is our responsibility to preserve them.
The Union Home Minister announced that the villages which would cooperate in the surrender of the Naxalites, will be declared a “Naxalite -free village” and a development fund of Rs 1 crore will be given. He appealed that the gram sabha should bring the villages forward in the surrender process.
The Union Home Minister said that now Tendu leaf is buying the government directly at the rate of Rs 5500 per standard bag, and the amount is going directly to the account of the tribals. This will end the control of people associated with red terror.
The Union Home Minister clarified that the Naxalites who leave the weapons will be brought to the mainstream with full security and respect. But the security forces will take strict action against those who do not put weapons.
The Union Home Minister informed that arrangements for small hospitals, schools, Aadhaar cards, ration cards and health insurance will be ensured for education and health in every village.
The Union Home Minister described a plan to give a global platform to Bastar's Bastar Bastle Metal, Terracotta, Wood Crafts, Tattoan and Painting. Under 'Wocal for Local', these products will be transported to the markets up to Delhi.
He said that the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda has been declared Tribal Gaurav Day. The Union Home Minister said that for the first time in the history of India, a tribal woman Mrs. Draupadi Murmu has been done in our government by making Mrs. Draupadi Murmu as President. The Union Home Minister said that the Modi government has given more than 4 crore houses in 10 years, 11 crore gas cylinders, toilets in 12 crore houses, water from tap in 15 crore houses, and 70 crore people have been given free ration and up to 5 lakh health insurance.
The Union Home Minister said that the real development will take place when doctors, collector, barrister and administrative officials will come out of Bastar. He called upon Bastar to be taken beyond the power of pen and computer, not weapons.
