In India, crores of passengers travel by train every day. Many thousands of trains are also run by the Railways for the passengers. People mostly prefer to travel in AC and Sleeper by making reservations in the train.

But do you know that you can travel in First AC coach by taking a Third AC ticket? Now you must be wondering how can this happen. So let us tell you that this can definitely happen. For this, a proper rule has been made by the Railways.

After booking a ticket in Third AC, your ticket can be converted to First AC. This facility of Railways is called the Automatic Upgradation Scheme. Which is given by the Railways. However, it is available in special cases.

For example, suppose you booked your train ticket in Third AC to go somewhere. But your ticket was in RAC. When the train is about to leave instead of Third AC, there is a ticket vacant in First AC.

So in such a situation, under the Auto Upgradation Scheme of Indian Railways, despite booking a ticket in Third AC, your ticket is made in First AC. That is, you can travel in First AC by paying a small fare.

Let us tell you that the Railways doeas not charge any separate fee for this. However, you get this facility only when you have ticked the option of "Consider for Auto Upgradation" at the time of booking.

Let us tell you that only confirmed tickets or RAC tickets are auto upgraded by Indian Railways. Waiting tickets are not upgraded. After the upgrade, you also get a confirmation message.
