Shiv Puran: Lord Shiva is considered a deity going to any extent to protect his followers and family members. Shiva's anger is so terrible that they do not tolerate unrighteousness and injustice, even if the criminal is their own. In one such context, Lord Shiva had ended his own child, which makes it clear that he can cross any limit to protect religion.
These two stories are associated with two Asuras, Andhak and Jalandhar, who are considered part of Shiva. But when both of them crossed the boundaries of sin and unrighteousness, Mahadev ended his own parts for the establishment of justice and religion. Let's know the full story of this poignant story.
Andhak is considered the son of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. She originated from the sweat of Mother Parvati and by nature she was of devilish tendency. Shiva gave him a gift to the demon Hiranyaksha. Andhak had the boon that he could make a relationship with any woman except his mother, but she was not aware that Parvati is her mother.
One day Andhak proposed Parvati for marriage and when Parvati refused, she tried to take them by force. Seeing this, Lord Shiva became extremely angry and he killed the blind from Trishul. In this way, Mahadev not only protected his wife, but also freed all the worlds from the terror of the blind.
Another story is associated with Asura Jalandhar, which was born from the glory of Lord Shiva. His origin was so divine that he became very powerful. Jalandhar slowly became tyrannical and started harassing the gods. Once, he even tried to attack Vishnu Lok.
The power of Jalandhar was the real defense of his wife Vrinda, who was the ultimate husband and the ultimate devotee of Lord Vishnu. Jalandhar became invincible due to the influence of Vrinda's tenacity. But when Jalandhar tried to defeat Parvati and climbed Kailash, Mahadev had to intervene.
There was a severe war between Shiva and Jalandhar, but due to the virtue of Vrinda, Shiva's power was not affecting Jalandhar. Then Lord Vishnu took the form of Jalandhar and reached Vrinda. Vrinda considered Vishnu as her husband, which disturbed her husband.
After this incident, the power of Vrinda's tenacity ended and Shiva killed Jalandhar. In this way, Shiva not only liberated the gods from the terror of Jalandhar, but also proved that no matter what unrighteousness is associated with anyone, its end is certain.
