An Escape to the Country duo were rendered speechless by the cost of a breathtaking residence.
On Friday's (4th March) airing of the beloved BBC series, Alistair Appleton lent his expertise to a pair seeking to swap their Blackheath, south-east London life for the pastoral charms of Berkshire.
Lynne, who steers a business, and her spouse Mark, managing a sizeable supermarket, confessed their desire for more room, leaving behind their two-bedroom Grade I listed Georgian home.
With a generous budget of £1 million, the couple wished for a detached period property on the fringes of a village, boasting three bedrooms or more, an expansive kitchen come dining area fit for social gatherings, gym space, and an office nook for Lynne.
The dream also included a garden stretching half to an acre and proximity to Henley, where Lynne's office is within an hour's commute, reports .
Alistair outdid himself, lining up multiple properties for inspection; yet, one stood out, captivating the couple's hearts instantaneously.
This exceptional dwelling nestled in Abingdon, South Oxfordshire, featured an extensive open-plan kitchen-dining-living area with sliding doors opening to a terrace. Additionally, it housed four bedrooms, a study, and a sizeable garden.
Approaching the abode, the pair were evidently awe-struck as Lynne exclaimed: "Oh, wow! Oh my gosh!" And Mark couldn't hold back: "I am gobsmacked. I mean honestly, this just looks absolutely amazing. Wow."
Alister turned to Lynne and queried: "So Mark , you're ecstatic. Lynne, you're quiet. Does that mean that you're not so ecstatic?"
Lynne responded: "No, it's absolutely stunning. I'm taking it all in. It's very different, but in a really good way."
Adding to their delight, Alistair disclosed that the property was listed for offers over £875,000, falling within their budget.
Mark expressed his astonishment, exclaiming: "Wow! That is a real surprise and considering what you're getting, I mean that is a shocker, an absolute shocker."
However, despite being smitten with the property, the couple ultimately decided against making an offer, opting instead to explore other options.
