Actress Anjali Anand, best known for Dabba Cartel and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, recently spoke about a traumatic childhood incident in an interview with Haute Fly. She revealed how a dance teacher influenced her life when she was just eight years old and how her first boyfriend saved her. Anjali revealed that it was a dance teacher who “tried to make her a part of the family.” When asked further if he used to take her alone when she tried to do something, Anjali agreed and said that he tried everything.
She said, “I didn’t know what to do. I was eight years old, right after my dad passed away. He said to me, ‘I’m your father,’ and I believed him because I didn’t know any better. Then he started very slowly — he gave me a kiss on the lips and said, ‘This is what fathers do.’”
She said this went on for years. She added, “He wouldn’t let me keep my hair open. He wouldn’t let me wear girl’s clothes. He would make me wear his old T-shirts so that I wouldn’t look attractive to others. When my sister got married and my father’s best friend’s son came to the wedding, he had a crush on me and started talking to me. That’s when I thought, ‘This seems normal.’ I was just hooked. He would keep an eye on my itemised billing – he knew what I was texting. He caught me talking to this guy. He would wait outside my school to pick me up and everyone would think, ‘Why is he always there?’ But no one even tried to see why.”
