But for those based in Manchester who often visit this store, there's no need to panic as another GAME store will open across the bridge inside a new Sports Direct which has opened inside the Traddorf Palazzo.

will only take a small section of the store which will spread across two floors.

A Trafford Centre spokesperson said: "We're always working hard to bring new and exciting brands to Trafford Centre, offering our visitors the best possible experience.

"We're currently in discussion with a number of retailers and will be in a position to announce which brand will be going in the former GAME store in due course."

The Trafford Centre is one of Manchester's most popular shopping spots and it is home to a huge range of popular stores.

As for , its closure of this store does not necessarily mean the business is struggling financially.

However, in recent years, it has closed a number of stores such as one in Aberdeen. In 2023, it closed around a dozen stores in England and Wales.

Frasers Group, previously known as Sports Direct, acquired Game Digital in 2019 for £52 million.

Game has around 200 stores across the UK, including stores in London and Brighton.
