British actor Martin Clunes reflected on his time on the hit sitcom , in which he starred as Gary Strong. However, before the 1992 series became the acclaimed show it is regarded as today, Martin revealed that a pilot episode starring Harry Enfield was produced.
Speaking on the "abandoned" instalment, the star referenced the show's director, John Howard Davis, and admitted it should never have been made. He said: "John also directed the abysmal pilot of Men Behaving Badly with Harry Enfield that no one has ever seen. We remade it." Martin added: "Dare I say it was badly directed."
The actor continued: "He went on to direct Fawlty Towers the most other thing.
"And at one point, he actually said to me be more like John Cleese because their idea that it wouldn't be funny unless there was a clash that we had to, as characters flatmates, it had to be," Martin added to .
The 63-year-old is reuniting with his Men Behaving Badly co-star Neil Morrissey for a brand new venture, 26 years after the sitcom that kicked off their careers.
The actors will star in a docuseries on UKTV's Gold, which will send them on a hilarious road trip to and across France.
Viewers will watch in awe as Martin and Neil, who starred as Tony Smart, reflect on their TV performances and reconnect with new memories on the series, titled Neil & Martin's Bon Voyage.
Neil, who considers France his second home will attempt to wow Martin with the stunning sights and delicious food that France has to offer.
Ahead of its release, he stated: "It's fantastic we have this golden opportunity to reunite so I can introduce my pal Martin to all the things I love so much about France, along with some Gallic treasures I've always wanted to see.
"I've fallen in love with this country, its glorious food, its delicious wine, and knowing Martin has an EU passport, I'm fairly certain he'll be relocating here once I've finished with him."
As Martin added: "I intend to find out by devouring the lot of it and seeing what I can remember afterward."
