Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big step to speed up the functions of the State Capital Region Development Authority (UPSCRDA). The state government has formed the Executive Committee, which will speed up the works of UPSCRDA. This authority was established in July last year, but till now no significant progress was observed by it. Now the state government has formed an executive committee, taking steps in this direction, which will be helpful in the execution of the authority's functions.
Importance of UPSCRDA
UPSCRDA has been formed with the objective of developing a better manner of six major districts of Uttar Pradesh – Lucknow, Hardoi, Sitapur, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Barabanki. These regions are highly important from the point of view of economic, social and infrastructure. The state government has given the responsibility to this authority to connect these districts and equipped with modern facilities.
Formation of Executive Committee
The state government has formed an executive committee to speed up it, which will have 21 members. This committee will incorporate secretaries, special secretaries and other officers of various departments, who will help in the works of the authority. The committee will include Urban Development, Public Works, Rural Development, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Secretary/Special Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department, MD of UP Metro Rail Corporation, MD, CTCP Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao-Shuklaganj Development Authority and Chief Development Officers of various districts.
What will be the work of the committee
The main task of the Executive Committee will be to monitor the schemes and progress fixed by UPSCRDA. This committee will help in implementing various government schemes in the development sector of the authority. Apart from this, this committee will also pay attention to the quality and timeliness of the development works being done by UPSCRDA.
Achieve the objectives of UPSCRDA
UPSCRDA aims to make overall development in these six districts, including high quality roads, better public transport, clean water supply, affordable housing facilities and industrial development. Work will be done towards development in big cities like Lucknow as well as other districts so that these districts can become helpful in the development of the entire state. The inclusion of new facilities in these districts will improve the standard of living of local residents and new employment opportunities will arise.
Role of Chief Minister and Chief Secretary
The work of the Chief Secretary as Chief Minister and Vice President as the chairman of UPSCRDA will be very important. Both these officials will monitor the works of the authority and ensure that all development works are completed on time and correctly.
