ended with a tribute to Denis Guyenon who was remembered as the show wrapped up its 14th series on Friday night. The "much loved" colleague sadly died last year aged 59. At the end of the episode, a message on screen read: "En la mémoire de notre ami Denis Guyenon 24/06/1965 - 06/07/2024," which translates from French as "in memory of our friend". Denis had worked on the show as the programme's stills photographer, as part of the Camera and Electrical Department and held the position for seven years.

Having worked on the show from 2017 until 2024, he would have photographed a number of leading detectives including DI Humphrey Goodman, who was played by Kris Marshall. Denis also worked with Ardal O'Hanlon, who played DI Jack Mooney. The final detectives Denis had worked with were DI Neville Parker - played by Ralf Little - and Ben Miller, who played DI Richard Poole.

Tributes poured in for Denis with the show's executive producer, Tim Key, saying: "Stills photographer Denis Guyenon was a much loved and key part of the Death in Paradise family, having worked on the programme from the very beginning.

"Chances are that if you saw a photograph of the show, then Denis had taken it. A kind, warm-hearted and talented man who cared very much about the show and all of the people who worked on it, our set feels different without him on it.

"He will be very much missed by all of his friends on the cast and crew and our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time."

Alex Gill, Picture Publicist, shared: "For me, he became a friend and partner-in-crime over the 13 years I worked with him. He was so integral to the Death In Paradise family and the success of the show.

"Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he always wanted to make us proud and ensure we had everything we needed to publicise the show. The team loved him, and he made many friends over the years.

"His family said he was always the happiest when he was working on Death In Paradise."

Elsewhere, Death In Paradise viewers were left in shock as The Commissioner rejected the job in a shock twist.

Don Warrington, 72, has played the long-running character since 2011 but it seems he will depart the series.

At the end of tonight's Death In Paradise, The Commissioner told Marvin (played by Don Don Gilet) that he would not be accepting the job going forward resulting in a cliffhanger.
