Tiger Woods' ex Rachel Uchitel announces engagement days after he goes public with his new romance
Less than a week after golf legend Tiger Woods made his romance with Vanessa Trump social media-official, his ex-girlfriend Rachel Uchitel has announced her engagement to Dan Donovan , after a whirlwind romance spanning 8 months.
Uchitel was in a relationship with Woods while he was still married to his ex-wife Elin Nordegren. She opened up about her relationship with the golf star in HBO's two-part docuseries Tiger in 2021.
Donovan proposed to Uchitel during a romantic evening on a private balcony overlooking the ocean at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Santa Barbara, California on Thursday evening. Founder and managing partner at event management service Stratoscope, Donovan chose a dreamy sunset moment to go down on his knees, and ask Uchitel to marry him.
Uchitel told pagesix.com that the duo were on a work trip to California. While she was there to record some podcasts, her beau had some other business there.
She shared the engagement announcement and photos including the close-up shot of her massive emerald-cut diamond ring, on social media on Friday while Donovan also posted a picture of him getting down on one knee. “She brings me to my knee!” he captioned the post.
While they met for the first time eight months back, they crossed paths online first when they matched on the dating app Bumble three years earlier.
Love life
Uchitel has been unlucky in love. At the age of 26, she was engaged to James Andrew O'Grady, 32, managing director of Sandler O'Neill. He was killed in the World Trade Center in the 9/11 attacks. She then married Wall Street trader and childhood friend Steven Ehrenkranz, however, they parted ways four months later. In 2011, she got married to insurance underwriter and former Penn State fullback Matt Hahn, ten years younger to her. She also shares a daughter with him. However, in 2013, the couple decided to part ways.
“Coming from losing a fiance in my 20s, to having a lot of terrible luck with men and making bad choices along the way, I feel like this has been a long winding road — but I finally have my own love story,” Uchitel told Pagesix.
'The most amazing man'
Donovan is said to share a close bond with Uchitel's 12-year-old daughter Wyatt, who also reportedly helped Donovan select the 10.25 carat engagement ring for her mother.
“I feel super lucky to be loved by him,” Uchitel told the outlet. “He’s the most amazing man.”
Around a week back, Woods, 49, made her 'secret romance' with Vanessa public by posting cozy pics with his ladylove. "Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together," he wrote.
"At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts."
