Former Chennai Super Kings player and commentator Matthew Hayden was not happy with fellow commentator during the IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday (March 28).
In the CSK vs RCB match, RCB were put to bat first and made a superb start. Phil Salt, Virat Kohli played some decent knocks, while captain Rajat Patidar scored a scintillating fifty in the match.
As RCB were motoring along in the latter stage of the innings, Danny Morrison's comments hyping up RCB led to a glaring commentators curse, as RCB lost three wickets in a jiffy.
"Is that true in terms of stats, RCB have only won here once way back in 2008? That's absurd. With the batting they have had over the years, the Arsenal, that's something. But this is looking good tonight," Danny Morrison said while commentating in the match.
As the Kiwi went on, Khaleel bowled the next ball, and Jitesh Sharma found the deep mid-wicket fielder while attempting a slog in order to score quick runs. Sharma fell after a quickfire 12 runs off just 6 deliveries, and Hayden was not happy at all.
"Ohh! Just Shut Up," Hayden said to Morrison. Hayden, who is known for his affinity for CSK, was not amused with Morrison jinxing Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Indian commentator Deep Dasgupta couldn't stop laughing and hilariously agreed with Hayden and said perhaps Danny Morrison should stop boasting good things bout CSK, which may have further ill effect on the team.
But even if Morrison stopped, the wicket-losing streak for RCB didn't stop. Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya fell in the very next over as a returning Matheesha Pathirana got two wickets in the penultimate over. Bengaluru ended up scoring 196 for 7 at the end of their full quota of overs as they managed 19 runs off Sam Curran's final over.
