Lucknow: The government operates various reservation and subsidy schemes to reduce social and economic inequalities in India. In this series, the scheme of economically weaker section (EWS) reservation has been started for the poor families of general category.

This scheme is for those general class people who are economically backward, but do not come in other categories of reservation. The EWS certificate is given to families who are economically weak according to the prescribed standards. Eligibility Criteria for EWS Certificate:

1. Applicant should be a native of Uttar Pradesh: The person applying for the EWS certificate should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh. To fulfill this condition, the applicant must have the residence certificate of Uttar Pradesh.

2. The applicant should be from general category: The EWS certificate is given only to those people who belong to the general class and other reservation categories like SC, ST, OBC etc.

3. The annual income of the applicant's family should be less than Rs 8 lakh: The total annual income of the applicant's family should not exceed Rs 8 lakh. If income is more than this, the applicant will not be eligible for the certificate under this scheme.

4. The family of the applicant should have less than 5 acres of agricultural land: The EWS certificate is also a condition that the land of the applicant should not have more than 5 acres of farming land. If the family has more agricultural land then it will not be eligible.

5. The applicant's family should not have a flat of more than 1000 sq ft: The family of the applicant should not have a residential flat or building larger than 1000 sq ft. It is part of the property of standard property.

At the same time, in the urban area, the family of the applicant should not have a plot of more than 100 square yards. The family of the applicant in the village should not have a plot of more than 200 square yards. If you complete this criteria then you can apply for it.
