Reacher season three has come to an end with a stunning finale this Thursday (27th March).
This year's outing of Prime Video's hit series saw Jack Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson) teaming up with the DEA to infiltrate a powerful crime syndicate.
While investigating the supposed 'rug dealer' Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) for harboring Susan Duffy's (Sonya Cassidy) colleague, he uncovers a dark period from his past when he comes across the nefarious Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) for the second time.
In this week's finale, Reacher finally takes down Quinn with a little help from Duffy and Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), and he also manages to outwit his most physically threatening adversary yet, Paulie (Olivier Richters), by rigging an LMG (light machine gun) to backfire.
But what's next for Reacher after he rode off on one of Beck's motorcycles?
Thankfully, fans have no cause for concern as a fourth season of Reacher has already been confirmed.
In fact, it was announced well ahead of the third season, way back in October last year.
Prime Video is definitely confident enough in the franchise, based on Lee Child's bestselling novels, so the streamer could even announce a fifth season in the works at some point this year.
Moreover, they've even revealed a spin-off, based on Reacher's close associate Neagley, is also in production. Filming began earlier this year.
As of now we don't know which of Child's 30 Jack Reacher novels will form the basis of the upcoming season.
However, as the fourth season is currently being written, the novel in question has already been chosen, so it's only a matter of time before fans get more details.
Lead star Ritchson recently teased the possibility of adapting the second book in the series, Die Trying.
"My favourite book is Die Trying," he revealed in Men's Journal. "I would love to see that happen.
"And so far, there's been a lot of discussion about whether or not we should or should not. I guess we'll see what the future holds. I'll find a way."
Even if Die Trying isn't adapted in season four, if Ritchson has given it the seal of approval it's safe to say there's a strong possibility that it will be adapted eventually.
When will Reacher season four be released? As of now, there's currently no confirmed release date for Reacher's fourth season.
Season one was released back in 2022, with season two following in late 2023 and finishing in January 2024.
The gap between seasons two and three was just over a year, so the premiere for the fourth season could be expected at some point in summer 2026.
Reacher is available to stream on Prime Video.
