If you want to educate your children in government schools of Delhi, then know that non-plan admissions for admission in classes 6-9 are just about to start.
Non-plan admissions in classes 6 to 9 in government schools of Delhi are going to start soon, this information has been given by the Directorate of Education itself. The Directorate of Education said that non-plan admissions in classes 6 to 9 in Delhi government schools for the 2025-26 academic session will start from April 1 through online registration system. Issuing guidelines for non-plan admission in these classes, the Directorate of Education (DOE) said that students studying under the Non Standard Organization (NSO) category in government or aided schools are not eligible for this process. They will have to contact their current school for transfer or re-admission.
Admissions will be done in 3 phases
The Directorate of Education said that the admission process will be conducted in three phases, the first phase of which will be open from April 1 to 8. The second phase will be held between May 1 and 24 and the third phase between July 1 and 25. Admission to class 6 and 7 for students promoted from class 5 and 6 will be processed online respectively. However, children not attending school will have to go to the nearest school and register. These applicants should be between 10 and 13 years of age.
According to the DoE, "Their basic literacy and numeracy will be assessed before finalizing their class placement." For students with disabilities, the government has announced a relaxation of 6 months in the lower limit and 4 years in the upper limit, which will be given by the school heads.
These options for correction in the application
If any error is found in the application, the parent or guardian can delete the application and submit a new application before the registration deadline. An OTP-based verification system has been introduced for this removal process. Once the applicant is registered, their details will be visible to the cluster in-charge of the school near their home.
Applicants will be allotted seats in schools through an online system based on vacancies and available infrastructure. If no school is available in a cluster, the District Education Officer will allot a school in a nearby cluster, the DoE said.
You can also apply offline
If a child is not registered in any of the online stages, parents or guardians can manually apply for admission to class 9 in the nearest school by August 5. The final edition list will be released on August 11 and the last date for admission is August 31.
This should be the age
The education department has fixed the age limit for each class. To be eligible for admission in class 6, the applicant must be at least 10 years but less than 12 years of age as on March 31. The age limit is 11 to 13 years for class 7, 12 to 14 years for class 8, and 13 to 15 years for class 9.
The education department said, "In case of special circumstances such as death of a parent, prolonged illness or trauma affecting the student's studies, additional age relaxation may be granted by the department." Parents or guardians seeking such relaxation will have to submit the relevant documents through the nearest school, which will then send the request to the concerned district authorities for approval.
