daughter Izzy, 24, has revealed how she pranged her brand new Mercedes, worth £50,000, within an hour of buying it. The petrolhead, who traded in her Mercedes A180 for her first "hot hatch" - a souped-up A35 - shared the nail-biting drive on the DriveTribe channel. Founded in 2023 by presenters Richard Hammond, and , DriveTribe also features former Top Gear's The Stig Ben Collins. Izzy, a podcast host, has described her flourishing career as "sometimes I do some driving, sometimes I chat".

However, it's clear that driving and cars are where her true passion lies. In the most recent video from the channel, Izzy told viewers that her new wheels were already fast but there was an easy way to make it even faster. Cutting to show a black box racechip, from Race Chip Tuning, she explained that it added huge power as she drove around the twists and turns of the Cheddar Gorge. She also posted snippets of her initial mishap, much to her followers' amusement. In one snippet, Izzy is seen revving the engine along a residential street, playfully mimicking the exhaust sounds with "pap pap pap pap pap", reports .

But then, a sudden jolt occurs as she apparently hits something on the road, accompanied by a clinking sound from outside. "Oh my God!" she blurts out, hand flying to her mouth. A subsequent clip shows a friend zooming in on a dent marring the passenger door's white paint. The camera then shifts to Izzy, who responds with a beaming grin and laughter, indicating she isn't too troubled by the mishap.

Izzy shared her excitement about the new purchase, stating: "Made a big girl purchase," in the caption of her post. "Video up on @drivetribe all about the choice and my enormous (and possibly a tad farfetched) plans for mods. It's going to be an animal. (Once I've fixed the dent I immediately created on hour 1 of ownership)." Writing under the post, one fan wrote: "Denting your car the first time you drive it. What a Hammond thing to do." Someone else added: "Came to Drivetribe for Richard but stayed for Izzy. Been great watching her car journey and can't wait to see what she does with her new car."

Earlier this year Izzy branded her famous dad an "idiot" who has "no fear" while reflecting on his daredevil job and his terrifying life-changing crashes. The former Top Gear star, 55, got into several car crashes over the years while working on Top Gear and The Grand Tour. In 2006, he was involved in a horrific car crash while filming for the show and ended up in a coma in intensive care for several weeks after suffering a brain injury. Izzy was just seven-years-old at the time.

Speaking on the podcast, she told listeners: "We've done handbrake turns around roundabouts, sorry I know that's incredibly illegal you might have to cut that out. He's an idiot. He has that thing that racing drivers have where they just don't have the fear. Everyone has that line where it's like 'okay I know where the line is', he just doesn't have that. He really genuinely would just go and go and go."
