During an under-19 tournament in Bihar, Vaibhav caught everyone's attention by playing an excellent innings of 332 runs. He was then selected in the India Under-19 team for the four-day match against Australia Under-19 and in this match, Vaibhav made a panic by scoring a century in just 58 balls. Apart from this, Vaibhav scored 176 runs in the Under-19 Asia Cup at an average of 44.
