Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be playing their second consecutive game at home in IPL 2025, while Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be arriving at Hyderabad from the not-so-far-away port city of Visakhapatnam. 

SRH shattered records in their first game by sending Rajasthan Royals on a leather hunt. Travis Head started with a bang in the powerplay and completed a quickfire fifty. Ishan Kishan then stole the show with a century that was well supported by the other players to take SRH to a mammoth 286 - the second highest total ever in the IPL. 

RR lost early wickets and ran out of the steam required for the chase. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel made fifties that were supported by cameos from Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey to end up with the second-highest match aggregate ever in T20s. 

LSG went down to Delhi Capitals in a thriller at Visakhapatnam. After Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran made seventies and gave a good start, Kuldeep Yadav fizzled the LSG innings down, and none of the lower middle order could make a heavy impact. DC were rattled by Shardul Thakur striking twice in the first over itself and continued to slide from there.

At one point, the Capitals needed 92 runs off the last 8 overs with debutant Vipraj Nigam and a struggling Impact Player Ashutosh Sharma on the crease. Nigam then took all the pressure off Sharma but somehow it didn't seem enough. Sharma then rallied the tail and under thrilling circumstances, snagged a one-wicket win in the last over.
