Marlon tries to reassure April that he's not angry, just concerned for her wellbeing. However, their reconciliation efforts fall flat. Eventually, Marlon confesses that he was the one who framed Dylan for the ketamine theft, leaving April stunned.
In a bid to mend things, Marlon shows her a letter proving that Dylan still cares for her. A distraught April runs off, leaving Marlon fearing he's only made matters worse.
Soon after successfully pilfering from the veterinary surgery, April makes off with a vial of ketamine. When Marlon returns home, he's horrified to find April unconscious with an empty ketamine vial beside her. Marlon secretly places a tracking device in April's coat, but the following day he realises Rhona has found it. She encourages Marlon to give April the space she needs, leaving him with a tough decision to make.
Nicola is on a mission to nab Brenda's cruise tickets for herself and Jimmy. When Brenda discloses she's going solo on the cruise, Nicola changes her game plan, attempting to secure a spot as Brenda's plus one by offering her support.
Jimmy is left feeling slighted when he discovers this, but what is Brenda's scheme? Jimmy hints to Pollard that there might still be hope for him and Brenda. However, when Brenda tries to have a chat with Pollard the following day, he misinterprets the situation. His hopes are raised, but will he end up disappointed?
Elsewhere, Chas and Liam grow increasingly worried as Ella starts incessantly messaging and phoning them. John suggests Liam switch off his phone, which initially seems to restore some peace.
However, when Belle receives an email cancelling Liam and Chas' wedding, it appears Ella is ramping up her harassment. In desperation, Liam contacts the police.
Tensions rise when one of the pub's windows gets smashed. Liam and Chas are convinced Ella is responsible, oblivious to the fact that Ella is observing them.
The next day, Ella unexpectedly shows up at Mandy's house demanding to see Liam. When Mandy declines, Ella detains Mandy against her will, forcing Liam to intervene.
She attempts to persuade Liam that she's being set up, and he tries to coax a confession out of her by feigning a reconciliation. Upon realising Liam's trickery, Ella reaches for the knife once more.
Chas and Mandy make an appearance, leading to Ella fleeing with Liam hot on her heels. A dramatic showdown in the woods sees Ella push Liam, causing him to fall and hit his head. Overcome with fear that she may have killed him, Ella breaks down over his lifeless body.
In another part of the Dales, Sarah tempts Kammy with a joyride in a sports car due for servicing. After Kammy declines, the customer accuses him of damaging his car.
Sarah is left fuming when Cain fails to support him. The situation escalates when the customer cancels his contract with the garage, resulting in Cain firing both Sarah and Kammy.
Elsewhere, Dawn is tormented by Billy's sincere efforts to mend their relationship. Kim cunningly arranges for Billy and Dawn to have some alone time.
Meanwhile, Mary makes another unsuccessful attempt to win Vanessa's heart. Gabby realises she needs a different childcare solution to Kim and is delighted by Vinny's suggestion. Belle is taken aback when Jacob proposes selling the wedding business to her.
