Freddy Brazier made a heartbreaking admission about his family as he and his father travelled the during a gruelling TV challenge. Last year, and his dad embarked on the adventure of a lifetime as they took part in Celebrity Race Across the World.

As part of the show, the pair raced 12,500km from Brazil to Chile without using their phones or taking any flights. Together, the father-son duo completed the challenge in third place, . During their time travelling, Freddy and Jeff spent some quality time together as they took part in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing as they navigated their way. At one moment tensions rose when Jeff walked away from his son after he claimed that their family wasn't typically open to one another. After discussing their challenge budget, Freddy held back from mentioning that he wanted to buy food. In response, his dad said: "You don't have to do things on the quiet, surely it only makes life easier for us as a family if we're all just honest." The young model then added: "I don't think we are even open as a family though, I stay quiet because I feel like that's what everyone else does."

This then prompted Jeff, 45, to ask: "Are you joking? Freddy, don't be unfair, what have I done for the last seven or eight years?”. Freddy then said: "Talking". Jeff then replied: "Right, well don't say that I don't, take responsibility that's part of this," before walking off.

after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. Following her death, Freddy and his older brother Bobby, now 21, lived permanently with their dad. Discussing their time on Celebrity Race Across the World, Jeff reflected on his relationship with his youngest son. "I've got a real confidence in my relationship with Fred, and I knew it would take something absolutely huge to make us fall out," he told magazine. "Then you're introduced to the limitation of the language barrier and the problems begin!"

He said: "When me and Bobby lost our mum, he had a big responsibility to very young boys who were grieving and that's not very fun." At the time of the show, . Arguments between the pair could reportedly get so intense that Freddy would leave the family home to stay with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden.

"Freddy will often turn up on the doorstep, sometimes very unhappy, and wanting to see his nan," a source claimed to . "He and Jeff often argue, the rows can be bad, things go really, really pear-shaped between them and that's it, he leaves.

. Three months after they began dating, the couple learned that Jade was pregnant with their first child. In June 2003, their son Bobby was born. A year later the pair called time on their relationship, though shortly after their split Jade discovered she was expecting their second child, Freddy. Jade and Jeff gave their relationship another go, though things didn't work out and they ended things when Freddy was six months old. In August 2008, Jade was devastatingly diagnosed with cervical cancer. She died on Mother's Day the following year, aged just 27.
