He launched the trailer of his film 'Sikandar' at an event in Mumbai. The actor said that he looked that way due to sleep deprivation. During the event, "Kabhi 5-6 din se sote nahi toh log photo daal ke bol dete hain. But I wanted to show them ki abhi bhi hai. (Sometimes, when I haven’t slept properly for 5–6 days, people post my photos and make assumptions. But I wanted to show them I still have it in me.)”
The actor had broken two ribs during the shoot of 'Sikandar' but he revealed at the trailer launch that director AR Murugadoss still kept pushing him, making him do 14-hour long shifts. He added, "Murugadoss kept pushing me even in action sequences. When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

During the event, the actor also reacted to his 31-year old age gap with Rashmika Mandanna. He said, "Heroine ke father ko problem nahi hain.
