Chennai Super Kings started the IPL 2025 season in exactly the same manner for which she is known. This victory of Chennai was very special but there was one more thing in it and that was veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who did something for which CSK fans had longed for 10 years. This was taking wickets in the yellow jersey of Chennai.

Chennai spinners dominate

Chennai and Mumbai Indians collided at Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday 23 March. In this match, the spinners of Chennai rein in Mumbai batsmen. CSK stopped Mumbai for just 155 runs, with left -handed Afghan spinner Noor Ahmed. This young spinner gave just 18 runs in 4 overs and took the maximum 4 wickets. Noor's bowling was wonderful, but in this match a special moment also came for Ravichandran Ashwin.

The veteran Indian off -spinner Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket, came to bowl in the fifth over of the innings and then he did not take much time to show his wonders. Ashwin returned the pavilion to Mumbai batsman Will Jacks on the fourth ball of his over. As soon as Ashwin took this wicket, he jumped with joy and also reached the heights of the fans of Chennai sitting in Chepock.

Ashwin's wait for 10 years ends

This moment was very special for the fans of Ashwin and Chennai because after waiting for 10 years, the local star of Chennai took some wicket for the franchise of this city. Born in Chennai, grew up and Ashwin, who lives here, made his IPL debut in 2008 for Chennai Super Kings and made his mark from here. He was a part of this franchise continuously till 2015 and was included in the team winning the title twice.

But after the 2-year ban on Chennai, he separated from this franchise and since then he was part of different teams. In the second qualifier of the 2015 season, Ashwin took his previous wicket for CSK against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Now after 10 years, once again, Ashwin, who returned to the Yellow Jersey of Chennai Super Kings, took the wickets again in his first over and brought back the memories of the fans again and made this victory more special.
