Disney has officially announced a sequel to a much-loved animated classic, eight years after the original released.
Coco 2 has been confirmed to be happening but it'll be a while before it comes out as it won't be releasing until 2029.
Disney's CEO Bob Iger revealed the exciting news during the company's annual shareholder meeting, although plot details are yet to be unveiled.
He divulged: "While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure."
Director of the first film, Lee Unkrich, is back to helm the follow up while Mark Nielsen, who has previously worked on Toy Story 4 and Inside Out 2, will be producing the film.

The original movie released in 2017 and followed 12-year-old Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks help from his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return to his family and reverse their ban on music.
Following the announcement about Coco 2, Disney fans have flocked to Reddit to share their reactions and it seems like a lot of them share the same sentiment.
One person expressed: "Genuinely one of Disney's only movies that probably does not need a sequel. What's he gonna do? DIE and become dead again and see all the dead family members again?"
Another fan commented: "I feel like Coco was pretty well-wrapped up from a thematic perspective, not sure where they’ll go from here."
Somebody else fumed: "Coco is one of my favorite movies of all time and i agree with so many others that it doesn’t need a sequel!"
Yet another wrote: "It's a great movie and does not need a sequel. Take the money and creative resources and hit us with something new."
A fifth said: "Coco does NOT need a sequel. If there’s any Pixar movie that doesn’t need a sequel it’s Coco."
However, a hopeful Reddit user added: "Well, that’s a surprising development for sure. If nothing else, i’d say they should explore the Land of the Dead and how it functions more in-depth."
Coco became a huge success, garnering a massive $814.3 million at the box office, from a budget between $175 and $225 million.
It received critical acclaim for it's animation, voice acting, music, visuals, story and respect for Mexican culture.
At the time, it became the 15th highest-grossing animated film ever and went on to receive plenty of accolades.
It bagged two awards at the 90th Academy Awards and was chosen by the National Board of Review as the Best Animated Film of 2017.
