In a touching moment on , Si confessed, "It's the last of Hairy Bikers publishing book because Dave is no longer with us."
He elaborated: "I was saying yesterday that it's interesting when you're putting a book together because food is comfort, and grief is a very interesting emotion. It's as individual as the person who feels it," reports .
"The compilation of this book was particularly challenging because our team has been together for two decades, so it was an emotional rollercoaster. We shed tears and shared laughs thinking about what Dave would make of it all, but it turned out to be a beautiful experience."
Moved by Si's honesty, Kate related it to her own loss, as her husband, died the previous year.
Kate reflected on the complexities of mourning on GMB, stating: "Grief isn't linear, is it? We talk a lot, don't we, about the stages of grief, and you go back and forth with it. I find often one of the triggers because Dave sadly passed away not long after my husband."
Chatting about how sensory experiences act as reminders, the conversation touched upon an interesting topic: "You and I have talked about this together, but one of the triggers is actually smells, sights, and sounds. Do you find yourself, when you're making a recipe that you devised together, just having a little moment and thought of him?"
In a heartfelt admission, Si confessed: "You know Kate, I've often said just because Dave's passed doesn't necessarily mean he stops being my best friend."
Reflecting on their beloved TV series, Si remarked: "I think we just wanted people to get back into the kitchen and give it a go because the has put so much pressure on families, and everyone was trying to do everything.
"What we were saying is that if we can do it in the middle of a ditch, then you guys can do it in a fitted kitchen at home."
