fans were left bewildered when they caught sight of a strikingly familiar face in an old episode of Only Connect. known as The Vixen on the show, had once battled it out on Only Connect over a decade ago, clinching victory in the BBC show's third series back in 2010.

In a winners' special episode on Two, which first hit screens in 2011, Jenny was seen with her fellow team members, Dave Bill and Alan Gibbs, known collectively as the Gamblers.

They faced off against the winners of series four, the Epicureans.n Before the quizzing commenced, host Victoria Coren Mitchell presented each contender, reports

While introducing Jenny, she said: "A law graduate who enjoys playing poker and bingo." Social media platform X, previously Twitter, was abuzz during the broadcast as Only Connect fans voiced their astonishment.

One viewer tweeted: "I wouldn't have recognised Jenny Ryan on this one but for the ever present name caption."Another chimed in, surprised: "I did not recognise [Jenny] at all there."

A third added: "Blimey didn't recognise [her]." Meanwhile, another puzzled spectator sought clarification, asking: "Please settle an argument, is Jenny Ryan on #OnlyConnect the same one of #TheChase fame?"

Social media has been abuzz as viewers finally recognised Jenny Ryan, one person tweeted: "It took us a while before we realised it was that Jenny Ryan, but it was her accent and some of her facial expressions that finally gave it away."

Another enthusiast pointed out how "looking very different" Jenny was on the BBC quiz show. Furthermore, someone remarked in awe: "Blimey, I didn't recognise Jenny Ryan (aka The Vixen from The Chase) at first - she hasn't got her trademark glasses and hairstyle."

Among the admirers, a watcher exclaimed: "On tonight's #OnlyConnect there is a Jenny Ryan. If it is the same Jenny as is in #TheChase then WOW!"

Jenny herself hinted to their followers about her nostalgic appearance, posting on Instagram ahead of the broadcast last year, she wrote: "POV: It's 2011 and your #OnlyConnect team are fighting to be crowned the champion of champions."

Before becoming a part of The Chase pack in 2015 and gracing the screen alongside Bradley Walsh, Jenny Ryan flexed her quiz muscles in University Challenge and Mastermind, where she chose Buffy the Vampire Slayer as her specialist subject.

Besides The Chase, she features with her fellow Chasers on ITV's Beat the Chasers, which premiered in 2020.
