The structure of the magnificent pink sandstone of the Galtaji temple was created by Diwan Rao Kriparam, who was the courtiers of Sawai Raja Jai Singh II. Since the beginning of the 16th century, Galtaji has been a shelter for Ramanandi sect and Jogis. For this temple of Galata ji, it is said that Santgalav had done penance of God for a long time at this place, so that God was pleased and blessed the sage and this place has been built for the devotional worship of the same sage, and this temple has also been named after the same sage. It is said about this temple that the sections of Ramcharitmanas composed by Tulsidas were also written at this place.

Sri Gyan Gopal Ji Temple and Shri Sitaram Ji Temple located in Galta ji campus are built in Haveli style. Shri Sitaram Ji Temple is the largest of all the temples of Galta ji. According to the belief of the people, the idol of Shri Ram Gopal ji located in Sitaram Ji temple looks like both Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. There is legend behind this idol that Lord Krishna appeared to Tulsidas ji as Lord Rama and what Tulsidas saw has described in this idol. Hanuman Temple located in Galata ji is famous all over the country for its unbroken light, its light has been burning continuously for the last several centuries. Apart from these, there are many small temples in the Galta ji campus which are spread from Galta Gate to Shri Sitaram Ji Temple.
One of the most special scenic spots of Jaipur, the complex of this temple has natural fresh water springs and seven holy 'pools'. Among all these pools, Galata Kund is considered the most sacred, which never dries up. Every year on the special occasion of the festival of Makar Sankranti, it is considered very auspicious to take a dip in this holy pool. Along with this, Gaumukh located here is also very famous for his pure and clean flowing water. The natural water springs located in the Galtaji temple also have special religious significance and are quite revered for devotees. The water spreads automatically in the premises of this temple and collects in the pools. According to the old legends, the holy script of Galvashram Mahatmay states that during the Hindu month of Kartik, on the full moon day, also known as Kartik Purnima, but Trimurti, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh come to see Galta ji. Therefore, by taking a dip in Galta Kund on this day, devotees get many times blessings. Therefore, a large number of devotees gather here to see Galata Kund on every Kartik Purnima and take a dip. According to another belief, it is believed that to complete the religious pilgrimage of Char Dham and Saptapuris, everyone has to take a dip in the holy Galata Kund once. If not doing so, the pilgrimage of devotees is considered incomplete.
