Choose who sees you: Guide to WhatsApp profile photo settings
03 Mar 2025

WhatsApp provides a privacy feature that lets you decide who can view your profile picture.

This tutorial offers a simple, step-by-step process for Android users to change who can see their profile picture on WhatsApp.

By following these steps, you can easily set your profile picture to be visible to everyone, only your contacts, everyone but specific blocked contacts, or no one at all.

Adjusting your profile photo settings
Settings navigation

To start controlling your profile photo visibility on WhatsApp for Android devices, first open the WhatsApp application.

Next, tap on the three dots in the top right corner of your screen to open the menu.

Then, click on Settings. This will take you to the settings menu of your WhatsApp account.

Choosing who can see your profile photo
Privacy control

Go to "Account" and "Privacy" in WhatsApp settings, tap on "Profile Photo."

Select "Everyone," "My Contacts," "My Contacts Except," or "Nobody."

If you select "My Contacts Except," choose the contacts from whom you want to hide your photo. Tap on "Done."

Note: This setting only affects photo visibility, not the ability to chat. Those who can't view your photo will see a default icon.
