While Julia Goulding's character, Shona Platt, faces turmoil in her on-screen marriage, her real-life romance with husband Ben Silver is a far cry from the drama of Weatherfield.

Julia and Ben have been happily married since February 2019, and the couple shares two adorable children, five-year-old son Franklin Wolf and two-year-old daughter Emmeline Beanie.

After dating for three years, Julia and Ben tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Manchester's iconic Albert Hall, a venue that held special meaning for the actress.

"I love being on stage, and I always wanted to get married on one!" Julia shared.

The pair made their day uniquely their own by walking down the aisle hand-in-hand, rather than following the traditional route. Reflecting on the moment he saw his bride, Ben gushed: "As soon as I saw Julia, I just knew it was the best day of my life."

While Julia and Ben are famously private about their personal lives, they did open up to OK! magazine about their wedding and future family plans. Julia revealed that Ben had some unconventional ideas for baby names. "We've got a lot of girls' names, but we haven't got any boys' names yet," she admitted.

Ben jokingly pitched the name Han for a boy, saying: "I want Han if it's a boy, as then he'll be Han Silver, which sounds like Han Solo, and I'm a big Star Wars fan."

Julia, however, wasn't sold on the idea. "Plus, Ben thinks he looks like a young Harrison Ford [laughs]! I've ruled out Han, so boy names are proving difficult. Ben also wanted Wolfgang, but that also got vetoed.

"Although, weirdly, my mum wanted to call me Wolfgang if I'd been a boy-I'm glad I was a girl [laughs]! I think you've got to be a certain kind of cool to pull off a name like that, and I don't think I'm that brave."

In June 2022, Julia announced her second pregnancy in a heartwarming and glamorous fashion. Stepping onto the red carpet at The British Soap Awards at the Hackney Empire, she cradled her baby bump while glowing in a stunning black off-the-shoulder dress.

Fans were thrilled for the actress as she shared the special moment with the world.

Julia has played Shona Platt on the cobbles since 2016. In an interview with OK!, Julia expressed her excitement about being part of the Coronation Street cast, saying: "Every now and again, you're walking around and it'll hit you 'Oh my God, I'm on Coronation Street!'

"It can be something as simple as standing in the queue at the canteen. Even if I'm there in 60 years' time, I think I'll still get that buzz."
