WARNING: Spoiler alert for Severance season 1 fans!

The much-anticipated second season of Severance is set to premiere tomorrow, January 17, on TV+, with a total of 10 new episodes scheduled to drop weekly.

In the gripping trailer for the upcoming season, we see Mark S (played by Adam Scott) discussing the blurred lines between their inner and outer lives with his Lumon Industries colleagues.

He reveals a shocking twist about his personal life, stating: "My Outie's wife died a few years ago, except the woman is Ms Casey."

Mark S confides in Helly R (Britt Lower), insisting: "I gotta get her outta here."

Season one unveiled Mark S' Outie was mourning his wife, a Russian literature teacher named Gemma Scout (Dichen Lachman), believed to have perished in a car accident, reports .

Everyone outside of Lumon Industries had accepted Gemma's death, but a mid-season revelation showed she was very much alive within the company, serving as the Wellness Director Ms Casey.

The plot thickens around Gemma/Ms Casey after it's revealed she may have undergone the controversial Severance procedure, leaving viewers with burning questions.

Fan theories are rife regarding Gemma/Ms Casey's 'true' nature at Lumon. Unlike her colleagues Mark S, Helly R, Irv (John Turturro), and others she has little personality, hinting at potentially darker undertones to her story.

The eerie reality Gemma/Ms Casey only exists within the confines of Lumon and not in the outside world adds layers of intrigue to her character.

Ms Casey, who intriguingly works part-time, has revealed that she can only recall approximately 107 hours of her time at Lumon. This could imply that Ms Casey operates on two separate floors at Lumon and possibly juggles two roles.

Her claim of having only 107 hours of memory suggests she's been with the company for a few weeks, considering employees can only remember their eight-hour workday.

However, in the real world, Gemma has been deceased for two years, creating a discrepancy in the timelines.

All these hints combined suggest she didn't actually go through the Severance process, but rather something entirely different, potentially involving a Lumon cover-up.

Actress Lachman, 42, gave fans a sneak peek of the upcoming season in a brief video earlier this year.

The Australian actress - known for her roles in Neighbours, Altered Carbon, and Agents of S. H.I. E.L. D. - shared the video with her 159,000 Instagram followers, captioning it: "Your outie requests answers."

In the clip, she stated: "Ms Casey is the wellness person for the employees at Lumon. She's a little mysterious and quirky.
