In the latest episode of *Shark Tank India* Season 4, a lighthearted moment stole the spotlight as Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, shared an amusing anecdote about his daughter. While engaging with the pitchers, Anupam revealed, "My daughter used to call me bro, now she says no bro. Now it's dude. So I have graduated now." This revelation came as a humorous response to Angel Arya, one of the pitchers, who addressed her father as 'bro'.
The episode began with Vinish Arya and Angel Arya, the father-daughter duo behind the online fashion brand Go Devi. They impressed the Sharks with their innovative collection and entrepreneurial spirit. Seeking an investment of Rs 80 lakh for 2% equity, they shared their journey of taking significant risks to establish their brand. Despite their enthusiasm and unique concept, Anupam pointed out the dangers of their risky approach and opted out. Peyush Bansal suggested they needed a strong co-founder to ensure a quicker turnaround, and the Sharks collectively advised the duo on improving their business model.
The spotlight then shifted to Bharat Khatri, the founder of Havintha, a premium hair product brand, as the third pitcher of the day. Bharat, hailing from Indore, sought Rs 50 lakh for 2% equity. He captivated the Sharks with his business model, leading Anupam to commend him with the phrase, "Bharat from Indore, aapne dho dala yaar." However, Anupam remained unconvinced by the numbers Bharat presented.
Kunal Bahl expressed belief in Bharat's potential but refrained from making an offer. Peyush Bansal, on the other hand, proposed Rs 50 lakh for 10% equity, accompanied by a 2% royalty until Rs 1 crore was recouped. Bharat, confident in his brand's value, countered with an offer of Rs 50 lakh for 4% equity. However, Peyush maintained that his initial offer was justified, considering the investment's scope, while Bharat deemed the offer too expensive.
Throughout the episode, the Sharks provided invaluable insights and guidance, demonstrating the essence of Shark Tank India: fostering entrepreneurship and innovation while addressing the risks and challenges of the business world. Anupam's humorous story about his daughter's evolving address highlighted the relatable, human side of these high-stakes negotiations, adding a touch of warmth to the competitive atmosphere.
