BBC presenter admitted that she has come close to having a row with her husband on their wedding anniversary.

The Only Connect host has been for 12 years.

On the day they were due to celebrate their long-lasting union, the pair ended up at odds over a strange idiom.

Victoria took to X to share their dispute with her followers, saying: "Look, I'm not going to have a row with my husband on our wedding anniversary of all days.

"But, BIZARRELY, he had never before heard the expression 'It's not the hen that cackles most that lays the largest egg'.

"He's just laughing incredulously and implying I made it up."

The frustrated woman continued: "IT IS A REALLY FAMOUS EXPRESSION, ISN'T IT? A proverb, even? I haven't gone mad?"

Former Pointless presenter weighed in, saying: "I haven't heard it, but it makes absolute sense.

"When I hear a hen cackling, which I do A LOT, I always think 'oh boy, I'm going to wait around, because there is a BIG egg coming now' and am disappointed, time and again. So it's a useful expression for sure, although one nobody has ever heard before."

Everyone else in the comments seemed to be firmly on David's side, claiming that they've never heard the expression either.

One person even jokingly responded: "David 1, Victoria 0."

David and Victoria met at a film premiere in 2007, when they were introduced by a mutual friend who told the BBC presenter that she should "probably marry him" before they'd even said hello.

Funnily enough, David Baddiel turned out to be right, as the pair did feel an instant connection.

Sadly this did not lead to anything for three years, as Victoria was left grief-stricken when her father suddenly passed away and took some time out from dating.

But the couple reconnected in 2010 and have been madly in love ever since.

David spoke about their relationship in his autobiography, saying: "I was hopelessly in love. I kept going because of her."

Victoria has also made the romantic admission that "we're so alike and complement each other so wonderfully that we are the ideal match and couldn't possibly be with anyone else".

She told the Telegraph that she is still amazed that they found each other, marvelling: "I mean, he's a hugely successful television comedian, he could have had a gorgeous 24-year-old skinny wife with a tiny nose and a string bikini, but he chose me! Me!"
