New Delhi: The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in the UEFA Nations League match against Poland. Ronaldo's stunning overhead bicycle goal combined with Rafa Leao, Bruno Fernandes, and Pedro Neto's goals powered Portugal to a massive 5-1 victory and sealed the quarterfinals berth.

After a goalless first half, Rafael Leao broke the deadlock just before the hour mark with a header before the 39-year-old star striker doubled the lead in the 72nd minute from the penalty with a confident strike down the middle of the goal. Bruno Fernandes smashed in the third goal in the 80th minute followed by Ronaldo's decisive pass for Neto to score the fourth in the 83rd minute.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner then capped off a fruitful outing as he scored his 135th international and 910th career goal. Ronaldo made the most of a dipping cross from Vitinha as his stunning bicycle kick within the next five minutes highlighted Portugal's dominance over Poland.

Poland scored a consolation goal in the 88th minute but that could not make a major difference to the scoreline. After the match Portugal coach Roberto Martinez said, "The first half was very bad for what we wanted to do, we lost focus and got frustrated. But the second half was the best I've seen. We've changed the mentality and increased the intensity and mutual support. We didn't let Poland play."
The win extended Portugal's unbeaten run at the top of the group table with 13 points, six ahead of Croatia, who lost 1-0 to Scotland. Poland sits level with Scotland in third place with four points. After the match, Ronaldo took to social media, sharing a post with the caption: 'Undefeated on their way to the quarterfinals!'

Poland were without their all-time top scorer Robert Lewandowski due to a back injury, started strong, and posed an early threat with three shots on target before halftime, while the hosts failed to register any. Meanwhile, the 2019 champions Portugal, who had dropped points for the first time in their previous outing with a goalless draw against Scotland on October 15 ensured their fourth consecutive top-two finish in the competition.
In 20 games this season, Cristiano Ronaldo has recorded 14 goals and three assists, showing no signs of slowing down. He has been unstoppable. However, it is clear that this marks the final chapter of Ronaldo's playing career and the football GOAT is determined to finish on a high note.
