Express.co.uk had the joy of trying out all of the range at , and . While a few were given an impressive five-out-of-five stars, one was described as abhorrently "artificial".
According to one reviewer on the team, the hot chocolate tasted "too artificial" and "too sweet" leading to the lowest score possible.
's smelt overly cherry-like and left a pungent aftertaste. The hot drink, after all, does have whipped cream topped with cherry sauce. Given only one star out of five, the reviewer conceded, "Others may like it."
However, the other two new drinks on 's menu received impressive remarks. 's was given the highest accolade-"five stars!"
"Amazing," the team reviewer exhaled after a sip of the hot drink. "Very nice." She added: "It's the perfect amount of ; not overpowering, not super sweet."
Also gaining top marks (five out of five) at is the new , which tasted "very nice" because of its "subtle hint of caramel" that was "just right".
Another Christmassy hot chocolate drink was dismissed as "too overpowering". has "too many festive spices" for one reviewer's liking.
"It's too overpowering," the reviewer said with a scrunched-up nose. "Just orange would have been so much nicer."
Bizarrely, 's hot chocolate tasted more like "mulled wine" than hot chocolate, resulting in a dismal score (2.5).
on the other hand, seemingly has the best hot chocolate on offer. "Banging!" the reviewer beamed upon tasting . "Yummy! That's good. Five out of five."
Expanding on their praise, the reviewer explained: "It's really nice, you can really taste the caramel; it's not too sickly, nor too sweet."
As for 's other offerings, the new was a letdown. The reviewer shared, "I was really looking forward to trying this hot drink."
"But, once I did, I was utterly disappointed - the pistachio chunks were off-putting, and the pistachio taste overpowered any taste of caramel." , on the other hand, was received much better.
"The biscuit is a nice little touch to dip into the coffee, and the coffee itself tastes really nice," the reviewer said.
Meanwhile, Pret's Kamilla's Maple Pecan Latte and the Caramelised Almond Latte both scored a solid four out of five.
