Ruud van Nistelrooy has left following the arrival of and his new backroom team, it has been announced.
Amorim, 39, will not get to work until later this week due to a visa issue, but he and the members of staff joining him from Sporting Lisbon ahead of his first game at the helm against Ipswich Town later this month.

The decision was confirmed on Monday afternoon. "Ruud van Nistelrooy and three first-team coaches have departed the club with our best wishes for the future," the club said in a social media statement. "Thank you for your unwavering commitment to United."

"Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club," a statement on United's website added. "Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.
"Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.
"Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed and we wish them all well for the future. We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course."

Van Nistelrooy, who oversaw three wins and a draw during his brief spell at the helm, said post-match: "(The club hierarchy) said, 'okay, it's going to be four [games], it's going to be announced a new head coach' etc, etc. So, for me, it is important to have that clarity and I appreciated that. In the end, the most important thing is this football club, and I'm here to support that in my role.
"As I said, I want to continue doing that in the future and now also the communication was okay, [that] 'after the block of four games, there will be communication towards you and your colleagues that are in an uncertain situation'. So, I expect to hear today or tomorrow from them."
