Paper 1 (General Studies) is of 200 marks and tests a range of subjects including current affairs, history, geography, politics, economics, general science, and environmental issues. The paper lasts for two hours and candidates must answer the questions carefully within this time limit.
Paper 2 (CSAT), which is 200 marks and lasts for two hours, assesses the candidate's aptitude, including comprehension, logical reasoning, decision-making ability, numerical ability, and basic data interpretation. However, Paper II is qualifying, which means candidates must score at least 33% marks in this paper to proceed to the Mains exam, but the marks of Paper II are not included in the final ranking for the prelims.
