Khatu Shyam Ji’s birth anniversary is celebrated annually on Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Kartik month, though some devotees mark it on the Gyaras Tithi in Falgun. Celebrated with immense devotion across the nation, Baba’s birthday is eagerly anticipated by his devotees all year long.

Khatu Shyam Baba’s Birthday in 2024

Khatu Shyam Ji’s birth anniversary is celebrated each year on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the Kartik month, aligning with the Dev Uthani Ekadashi fast. In 2024, this auspicious occasion will take place on November 12.

In preparation, the renowned Khatushyamji temple in Khatoo village, just 43 km from Sikar district in Rajasthan is planning a grand celebration for this special day. The festivities will align with the annual Kartik Mela, which commenced on November 10 and will continue through November 13.

Grand Preparations Underway for Baba Khatushyamji’s Birth Anniversary in Sikar

As the festivities unfold, the Kartik Mela is expected to draw thousands of devotees from all over the country to pay their respects at Shyam Darbar. This year’s celebration, designated as the Kartik Mahotsav, has seen comprehensive preparation by the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee and the district administration to ensure everything is in place for the visiting devotees.

Temple adorned with fresh blooms from Delhi and Bengaluru

A special floral decoration is planned to enhance the festive atmosphere. Colourful flowers from Delhi, Bengaluru, and other regions will adorn the temple, with Baba Shyam appearing in his child form for this year’s celebrations.

Devotees will be greeted by images of Shrinathji and Baba Shyam at the temple’s main gate, specially designed in Shrinathji’s style to honour the occasion.

Darshan timings

Darshan hours during the Kartik Mahotsav will extend till 10 pm daily. However, viewing may be temporarily paused during Shringar (adorning rituals) and Bhog (offering rituals), resuming afterwards to accommodate all devotees.

Khatu Shyam Ji’s birthday is marked with grandeur throughout India, but it is celebrated with particular devotion in Khatu (Khatoo) city. On this auspicious day, the temple is adorned with flowers, and Baba Shyam’s idol is dressed in exquisite attire.

A festive fair fills the city, and a cake in Baba’s honour is cut amidst joyful chants of “Shyam Baba Ki Jai,” “Khatu Naresh Ki Jai,” and “Live with the support of the loser.” A magnificent aarti is performed on this day attracting countless devotees who come together to celebrate and honour Khatu Shyam Baba’s legacy.
