Park Jin-Young, also known as Jinyoung, of GOT7 was ultimately released from the military a few days after Jay B, the group’s leader. The K-pop star joined the military in May 2023 and served for 18 months till November 7. BamBam and Yugyeom, his fellow GOT7 bandmates, surprised him by showing up at his release ceremony to commemorate the successful completion of his national service.

In an interview with Korean news sources after his release, Jinyoung discussed his military background and future plans. According to Soompi, the K-pop star discussed his military service in one of these interviews. “Over the past year and a half, I had a great time with good friends,” he remarked. Joining the military has, I believe, made me a stronger individual. Jinyoung went on to say that he returned as the “better person” he had promised his supporters he would be. “I wanted to thank fans because I believe I was discharged in good health,” he said.

Jinyoung also disclosed in the same interview that he will begin shooting his next romance K-drama, Unknown Seoul, which would feature the well-known actress Park Bo Young, in the future weeks. The GOT7 member said, “I believe I will begin filming for ‘Unknown Seoul’ after I am released.” I believe I will be able to welcome visitors with another project the following year after that. Director Park Shin Woo’s romance K-drama will be Jinyoung’s debut drama after his release from the military.

The GOT7 vocalist, meanwhile, also discussed the group’s upcoming comeback album. All of the members have been “working hard” to put the record together, the 30-year-old superstar said in the interview. In addition, GOT7 wants to release the record before the other members go for their upcoming required military duty. Jinyoung said, “We started the album planning phase while talking among the members during my most recent trip. Fans may probably expect a GOT7 album in the near future. Please anticipate it.

Regarding his career, the 30-year-old GOT7 member has shown his abilities in both acting and singing. He appeared in a number of well-known K-dramas, such as Yumi’s Cells, The Devil Judge, The Legend of the Blue Sea, and Reborn Rich. In addition, he costarred with Roh Jeung Eui in the K-drama The Witch, which he shot before enlisting in the military. During the first half of 2025, Channel A will broadcast the mystery romance on Saturdays and Sundays.
