William Gallas claims its "unacceptable" for to look tired at this stage of the season - especially given their lack of success.

The Frenchman, who previously captained the Gunners, believes his former side look fatigued ten games into the campaign with their lethargic performances seeing them lose ground on their rivals in the .

have only won two of their past six games in all competitions - losing three. They suffered their first and have also been undone domestically by and in recent weeks.

The north Londoners are aiming to end a Premier League drought that dates back to 2004 with Arteta coming under pressure to deliver some silverware. Gallas would understand a drop off if Arsenal had already achieved success, but was fuming with the look of the team given they haven't yet delivered.

He told : "I know it's not easy to repeat the same things year after year, because when you’re competing for the Premier League title, trying to be the best, you lose a lot of energy. I could understand Arsenal’s levels dropping if they won the league last season, I wouldn’t like it, but I would understand it because that can happen to successful teams.

"It’s unacceptable for Arsenal’s players to look tired at this time of the season. won the Premier League; they won the Champions League. They dropped off last season, and you can understand why, because maybe the players has heard the same things from Klopp for too long. You forgive them that because of what they won, Arsenal doesn’t have that excuse.

"Arsenal has won absolutely nothing! Nothing. Why are they tired? Their arms don’t ache form lifting trophies. Explain to me why they are tired. Liverpool, they don’t look tired, they look like they’re ready to fight for the title."

Arsenal have been edged out in the past two seasons by , despite leading the table for long periods. Last term they took the title race until the final day but many have tipped them to eventually top the pile with Arteta talking up their ambitions.

This term though they've dropped points in five of their ten games. It has left them seven points off leaders Liverpool and five behind City. Arsenal have also struggled massively without playmaker Martin Odegaard, who has been out injured, as their squad depth is tested.
